Cause of the Day: Smile Q&Q Solar Watches provide meals overseas
I’m not a terribly huge fan of wearing watches, but if I can find one that is fashionable and stands for a good cause, then sign me up! About a month ago, I attended the RonRobinson & Coco Eco Magazine Launch Party in West Hollywood, where I discovered a variety of eco-friendly beauty brands as well as some fun, charitable accessories. I met with the awesome folks at Smile Q&Q Solar who were happy to show me the latest styles in their Smile Solar watch collection. The watches retail for $40 USD, and can be found here: online or in RonRobinson stores in Los Angeles. The best part about these watches is that with each purchase a portion of the proceeds are donated to Table for Two, a non-profit that delivers school meals to children in Africa and Asia.
Smile Q&Q Solar is striving to make the world a better place by bringing environmentally friendly watches to everyone. I love the Smile Solar series because they are easy to wear and powered by light so you never have to change the battery. Mine is a simple black watch, but some of my favorites include: Red/Black model, White/Black, and the White/Green. The full collection offers a variety of styles ranging from monochrome to funky geometric patterns. The collection includes a wide range of timepieces made with high quality and eclectic design – for both men and women. These watches are so rad, they even caught the attention of Katy Perry, who’s wearing one in her latest “Birthday” music video (she’s the sparkly pink Princess Mandee).
More about TABLE FOR TWO: In our world of 7 billion, approximately 1 billion suffer from malnutrition, while another 1 billion suffer from obesity. The mission of Table for Two is to help combat this imbalance by simultaneously addressing the two opposing problems through a unique “calorie transfer” program. By partnering with over 600 corporations, universities, restaurants, and organizations Table for Two is implementing their program in their establishments and products.
Table for Two has served over 50 million healthy meals to both sides of the “table”. What does this mean? On one side people are eating healthier meals, and on the other children are receiving nutritious school meals. Check out the website here for more information about the TFT impact. The organization was initiated by and is an official affiliate of the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders.
