AroundTown LA: RonRobinson Celebrates LA Cool with Andrea Linett
At House of G&C, my team and I love everything about the month of October! It’s my birthday month, and it’s the perfect month to celebrate the fall season in style with birthdays, weddings, Halloween, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, AND a string of awesome HGC-approved events at my favorite look good, do good and give back LA boutique, RonRobinson on Melrose.

Oh, and About that shopping…
I love this LA boutique because not only has it launched so many fashion brands, but also because this carefully curated lifestyle store is truly one of a kind. In past HGC x RonRobinson posts, I’ve shared some of my favorite must-have brands and this month- I want to introduce you to some new ones. Stop by the store on Thursday, October 20th from 4-7pm to meet Andrea Linett and shop new Fall 2016 collections. Designers will be in-store as well- so you won’t want to miss this event! Enjoy snacks, wine, great shopping AND gift with purchase. Be sure to RSVP here: firstname.lastname@example.org !
The Brave Collection- New! This lovely line is from NYC and is dedicated to empower survivors out of human trafficking in Cambodia. The Brave Collection is beautiful because of it’s meaning (bracelet above says “Brave” (Klaa-han) in Khmer). Each of these designs are influenced by the artisans and Buddhist culture of Cambodia. My favorites include Teal and Slate Grey in the Brave Bracelets collection, and the Black Cobra Stitch bracelet from the Silver & Gold Plated collection, and all of the Buddhist flag necklaces. Courage is contagious! Price point: $38-175 USD. Stop by the store to try on your favorite style, or shop The Brave Collection online here.
Fight against human trafficking: The Brave Collection donates 10% of each purchase to help fight human trafficking and empower women and girls around the globe.
Coconut Village- I LOVE these intricate embellished designs inspired by traditional workmanship of Southeast Asia. Coconut Village is the perfect blend of Boho style incorporating vintage denim mixed with repurposed traditional Hmong fabrics and embroidere textiles. Founder Lisa Coffey was traveling across the country to visit her family in Laos, was immediately inspired by the beautiful surroundings, colorful fruit and community of her native village. Wishing to contribute to the livelihood and sustainability of her community, the Coconut Village brand was created. Price point: $20-200 USD. Stop by the store to try on your favorite style, or shop Coconut Village online here.
Empowers artisans in Laos: In addition to heping Coffey’s family, the funding also goes to help transforming homes in her village by replacing broken roofs and termite-ridden wood structures. Find out more here.
SaytheSun- It’s the middle of October but it’s still sunny and about mid 70′s and 80′s out. Not to make you East Coast folks jealous, but there is quite the heat wave these days so staying stylish in cute SaytheSun sandals will be easy to do. These are THE perfect stylish sandal to have in your beach or gym bag whether you’re a SoCal native, or visiting the beach in Mexico, jet-setting overseas or simply spending your weekends in the Hamptons or on the Jersey Shore. Price point: $39-64 USD. Stop by the store to try on your favorite style, or shop SaytheSun online here.
Vegan: Love these vegan styles that embody easy breezy Cali style and they’re safe for our four-legged friends!
GLOSS Moderne & Kayo Better Body Care- I’m a huge fan of beauty products that are organic and vegan. I’m personally not a Vegan, but I do appreciate the care and love that goes into products that are all-natural and that do not test of animals. All beauty, skincare and haircare products at RonRobinson are carefully curated and selected based on their ingredient make-up as well as how and what the brand does to be sustainable + give back to the community and planet it is part of. GLOSS Moderne has been featured on the blog many times just because the hair care products are too good not to share with the world! For more on the blog, check it out here.
Kayo Better Body Care is comprised of a complete body care program, specially designed to give you noticeable results. The complete Kayo line consists of layering highly penetrating serums, topical boosts and luxurious body creams developed to strengthen the skin’s ability to recover and protect. What I love most is that every product can be used individually, or they can be used as a complete program for a comprehsive beauty regimen. Price point: $20-200 USD. Stop by the store to smell and try on these luxurious products, or shop Gloss Moderne at RonRobinson and Kayo Body Care at RonRobinson here.
Vegan & Made in California with love: Both of these lovely lines were born, raised and (literally made) in the U.S.A. Gloss Moderne hails from Newport Beach CA, and Kayo Better Body Care is from Malibu, CA.
Diaco Los Angeles- Love this simple and effortless line. Diaco Los Angeles mixes the perfect balance of classic chic silhouettes and “athleisure” style all in one. I usually love bright colors and crazy prints, but ever since I’ve colored my hair violet purple – life just seems easier in black, white and gray. I like that the Diaco LA line is easy to mix and match and is simply classic in any one piece. Price point: $20-200 USD. Stop by the store to try on your favorite style, or shop Diaco online here.
Made in LA: Los Angeles is a growing mecca for fashion of all styles, budgets, and designers from all walks of life. If it’s inspired, designed and manufactured in LA, what’s not to love?
