Around Town LA: Dress For Success hosts Y.E.S. Summer Soiree
It’s that time of year for summer transition…moving from the hectic days of July vacation mode into the last few laid back days of August. It’s also a time when people are thinking about “back to school”. Whether it’s returning to school as a student, as a teacher or as a consumer (this month does have the best fall fashion shopping deals and the lowest office supply prices ever- so go to Staples and stock up!) August is also a great time for thinking ahead and planning for the fall. For me, fall is my favorite season, so I love anything to do with planning my time and extracurricular activities.
One of the latest organizations that I am incredibly excited about is Dress for Success. The organization is an international non-profit organization that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Operations started in New York City in 1977 and to this day has expanded to more than 16 countries (over 130 cities).
For those of you located in LA, I’m excited to invite you to join me and the steering committee for the Dress For Success- West, Young Executives for Success Summer Soiree event tomorrow from 7-9pm at The Hotel Palomar on Wilshire. It’s not too late to RSVP- current Y.E.S. members can attend for free- for new members, please visit this link to RSVP HERE.
The Dress for Success Worldwide- West Los Angeles office opened on December 7th, 2009 and has served over 3,000 clients by partnering with over 160 community agencies. As part of the Dress for Success West Y.E.S committee, I encourage you to come out and see me and meet other young professionals! Guys can join the committee too, so please don’t hesitate to come out for a drink and meet guest speaker Alexa Fischer, and hosts, Amy Paffrath and Crystal Fambrini. This will be an excellent occasion to learn about Y.E.S! while supporting the work of Dress for Success Worldwide – West. Y.E.S! membership is open to young professional women and men. Guests will have the option to become a member during the event. Read more about Y.E.S! membership perks here ow.ly/zd0TO.
